The partnership between Ford and Lincoln dealers, Ford Motor company, community colleges and technical schools is a two-year program that allows students to earn while they learn and gain hands-on technical experience while earning an Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology.

Chris Busch, training director for the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 3, will talk about apprentices as a career choice for high school students. He currently chairs the Central Iowa Coordinators Committee, which represents 16 skilled trades and apprentices in Iowa, and he will guide you through helping your students explore apprentices and where to go for additional information.

Shane Peterson will be showcasing the Northwest Iowa Industrial Technology Fair. He will be sharing information about the fair along with contests, projects, and how you can either get involved or develop an event for your region.
Sean Sanger and Seth Vernon will share their experences of developing manufacturing based classes for their respective districts. We will discuss getting started, growth, collaboration, and projects utilizing CNC plasma tables, machining centers, and other pieces of CNC equipment.
This past June the University of Northern Iowa, Northwest Iowa Community College, the IITEA, and the Iowa Department of Education came together to offer two professional development opportunities for instructors. This session will recap the Topics in Metal Casting event held on the campus of UNI. This is open to all instructors that attended, as well as, those who did not attend and want more information about adding metal casting curriculum to their program.
